Sadly, Design Training UK’s founder and owner Julie Hatton died recently, following a long illness. Despite an increasingly debilitating condition, she continued to work hard in maintaining Design Training UK (DTUK) right up to the end, because she loved doing her job.
She had hoped that I would continue running the business after her death, but she died sooner than expected and was not able to do a smooth handover, and I had to await the results of Probate before being able to continue.
After Probate concluded and after some thought, I initially decided not to continue with the business, as I didn’t have Julie’s depth of experience with design software or the training industry.
However, over the last month or so, and after discussions with, and encouragement from, some of the trainers who have worked with DTUK in the past, I’ve found a way to carry on that will allow me to juggle running DTUK, my own local IT/Documentation business (www.coftoncomputers.co.uk) and being a single parent.
