About Us

About Design Training

We are a small computer training business specialising in providing short intensive courses for graphic design software, desktop publishing software and photo editing software.

We offer on-site training at the client’s premises, and we can also offer online video training for many courses.

We have been providing training for our clients for more than 20 years, initially just offering training for Adobe Photoshop and then expanding the training available to include desktop publishing software, web design software, video editing software and even occasionally MS Office.

We provide:

  • Short intensive training sessions.
  • One to one or small group training.
  • Custom courses are available for most applications.

Our clients

Our clients include marketing departments, educational institutions, clothing designers, small business owners, students, professional designers and others.

Why choose our training services?

We offer short, intensive courses (typically 1 – 3 days), which means that you can cover a lot of ground in a short space of time.

Small groups (one to one or small group of up to 4 trainees) mean that you will be able to ask questions during the training.

Training can usually be customised to your requirements, with more time spent on areas which are most important to you. You can also spend time looking at your own documents and designs and working through any current projects you may have (details of specific requirements must be supplied before booking training).

Unlike many training providers, our prices are “per day” and not “per person”. and the cost per day is normally the same for up to four trainees.
(Visit the prices page for more information.)

For two or more people this is a very cost-effective way to do training, often working out much cheaper than attending a public course at a training centre.

Dates can be arranged to suit you (subject to availability).
Start and finish times can often be flexible as well.

When arranging the training, you will usually be communicating with someone who understands design software, making it easy for you to discuss specific requirements and get advice on which training is best for you.

About the courses

We provide short, intensive one to one and small group courses for design software.

Beginners courses provide an overview of the main features and techniques of that software. There is usually some time at the end of the day for you to explore your own ideas and create some simple designs of your own.

Intermediate and advanced courses are often custom courses, based around creating your own documents and designs, including: marketing materials, advertising literature, graphics, photos, etc.

If you supply an example document, we will try to put together a course for you which will enable you to create those documents and designs yourself.

Training location

We provide on-site training (at your office or home).

We are now offering online video training.
Please contact us for more information.

The training is usually available as one to one training, or for up to four trainees.

Most courses can be arranged around the UK, although trainer availability does vary, so please contact us to check.

You will need to have suitable computer equipment with the software installed and working.

About the trainers

The trainers we work with have different skills and some have their own specialist areas. However, all are experienced designers in their field and are experienced trainers with a track record of delivering various types of training.
Some trainers are full time trainers for whom training is their main work.
Most trainers do design work as well as training.

Design skills are important if you are teaching design software, so we always work with trainers who have good design skills, good technical skills and good training skills. So as well as learning the software you will be able to learn general design skills and good technique during the training.
