Software: Photoshop 7, Photoshop CS, CS2, CS3, Photoshop CS4.
Numbers: One to one or small groups of up
to 4 trainees
Trainees in a group should have the same skill level and the same requirements.
Locations:
1) At client's site in Birmingham, Midlands and around the UK.
2) One to one, here in South Birmingham (limited availability) *.
Photoshop Training Requirements:
You should have good general computer skills.
Some previous knowledge of design software would be helpful, but not
essential.
Photoshop Web Graphics Design Introduction - course outline
Photoshop basics - interface and tools:
Using the main tools and changing tool option settings
Using floating palettes: Layers, Swatches, History, etc
Cropping & Rotating:
Cropping images to remove unwanted areas
Rotating or Flipping an image
Text:
Creating text, setting text attributes, choosing colours
Applying drop shadow and emboss effects to text
Colours
Using the colour picker
Choosing RGB colours
Choosing web safe colours
Storing colours for later use
Colour Adjustment
Using Levels and Hue Saturation to adjust colours on an image
Designing web graphics
Creating simple web buttons
Creating repeating designs for web page backgrounds
Create a simple banner design or a header design to fit at the top of a web page, combining photographs,
logo and text.
Resizing Images
Correctly re-sizing images so that you don’t
get blurred or distorted images
Use Image Size, Canvas Size, and the Crop tool to resize your
images to an exact size
Keeping image quality as good as possible when resizing
Create a set of images, all of the same dimensions
Saving images and graphics for web sites
Image optimisation and choosing the correct file format and settings
Colour modes used for web graphics files - RGB and Indexed - the differences and limitations of each
