Photoshop Training Requirements
For the one day course you should already have knowledge of Photoshop tools
and general usage.
For the 2 day course you just need good computer skills.

Colour modes used for web graphics files - RGB and Indexed - the differences
and limitations of each
File formats and optimisation settings - the correct settings to use
Colour correction
Using Levels, Colour Balance and Selective Colour to colour correct an image
also including colour matching and setting pure black and pure white
Resizing Images
Correctly re-sizing images for use on web sites so that you don’t
get blurred images
Use Image Size, Canvas Size, and the Crop tool to resize your
images to an exact size
Keeping image quality as good as possible when resizing
Create a set of images, all of the same dimensions

Choosing RGB colours
Choosing web safe colours
Storing colours for later use
Text & Design
Creating simple buttons
Create a simple banner ad design
Images and Designs
Adding a border or drop shadow behind an image or set of images
Design and Montage
Creating page backgrounds and borders
Creating a header design to fit at the top of a web page, combine photographs,
logo and text.
Slicing
Use the slice tool to cut a design (e.g. the header design) into 2 or more pieces (which may be necessary to fit with the web page structure)
Creating a web photo gallery (image gallery web page)
Actions and Batch processing
Recording a series of processes to be performed on a number of images
e.g. changing resolution and resizing a number images to the same size.
Naming, editing, saving, loading and applying actions
Batch processing a complete folder of files
Using the Save For Web command
Image optimisation and choosing the correct file format and settings
Ways of decreasing file sizes:
Techniques for modifying a photograph so that it will be a smaller file
size when saved.
How to use image files and designs with other programs such as Illustrator or Fireworks.
Adobe Photoshop training is available onsite in Birmingham and surrounding Midlands areas as well as at our premises in South Birmingham for one or two trainees.
